Testimonials

  • Jools is in Soi Nana, about 200m further down than Nana Plaza. It has friendly staff, management and regular clientele who make newcomers most welcome. It is a small narrow bar and can be very crowded at peak times, which in a way adds to the Pub atmosphere. Very reasonable bar prices.
It has an incredible menu of Pub ‘grub’, every dish I’ve tried has been authentic and delicious.
If you are looking for a friendly, small Pub as distinct from the larger empty ‘barns’ that are now too common in Bangkok you will probably enjoy Jools.

If you like British pub food done right, filling, simply done and proper, Jools is the place. This little English local transported to a soi in Bangkok is often filled with British expats so stop by, enjoy and have some great food.

“Jools Bar Bangkok must go to when you are in the Capital”
    5 of 5 starsReviewed 9 January 2014

Jools Bar Bangkok is indeed a homely establishment with an array of traditional English fare that is prepared to such perfection that it is in a literal sense home from home. The roasts and the bangers and mash are superb. Smoking is not permitted (unlike many bars in Bangkok ) and patrons wishing to do so may relocate to a small balcony bar to the side. The welcome you receive from the proprietress Roong is warm and welcoming and the service from the girls behind the bar is excellent and attentive. There is a wide selection of ciders and beers available and as with the food the prices are not overpriced. The establishment is managed with great pride by a young Englishman and he does an extremely good job morphing together all nationalities and families in a splendid atmosphere. Jools is a bar you must visit when you come to Bangkok. You can start the evening here before you peruse off into the Bangkok nightlife.
    Recommended.

  • Great Bar! Home away from home 🙂 Love the place. In fact I changed my hotel to one just 30 metres away 🙂 Great company (most nights, they do get the occaisional fcukwit in there), pretty staff that like a laugh, cold beer and TOP QUAILITY food, both English and Thai. Couldn’t ask for a better bar 🙂 Just for the record I have no commercial interest in this bar whatsoever. Bob 🙂

This bar/restaurant does not exactly have an outstanding ambience. Scruffy chic would be an overstatement.
But try the baked ham with parsley sauce (served in a separate dish) with mash and garden peas. It’s superb. They have a fair variety of other offerings too, as well as a selection of imported beers and the usual Thai brands. Friendly efficient staff make this a little gem in the midst of the rather seedy environs.

  • Right in the Centre of Bangkok a perfect place to unwind & have a drink with friends or even strangers who will become friends by the time the bottle is empty! (Or glass if it’s a Sunday!) Not to be missed, if you haven’t been you haven’t lived!
